Today, you will explore some of the most iconic and sacred landmarks of Lhasa. You will begin the day with an excursion to the majestic Potala Palace. The palace was once the winter residence of the Dalai Lamas. After Potala Palace, you will drive to Jokhang Temple, the spiritual center of Tibetan Buddhism. Join the local devotees in the monastic rituals and meditation.

Your day ends with a visit to the vibrant Barkhor Market. This is a bustling street that flaunts the profound culture of Lhasa.

Your second day of the Lhasa exploration takes you deeper into the Tibetan monastic life. You will visit two of the “great three” Gelug monasteries. First, you will go to Drepung, which was once the largest monastery in the world. Next, the tour heads to Sera, which is known for its spirited monk debates in the afternoon courtyard.
